The Labor Government has delivered the first majority-woman federal ministry in Australian history while increasing women's representation on Australian Government boards to an unprecedented 54% as of June 2024 - up from 33.4% when reporting began in 2009.

The government has also implemented new targets requiring 50% of Chair and Deputy Chair positions be held by women, with the current level already reaching 45%. These concrete achievements have contributed to Australia's significant improvement in the World Economic Forum Gender Gap Report, rising 17 places from 43rd to 26th in just one year.

To further strengthen women's pathways to leadership, the government has invested $5 million in Women for Election Australia to support women from all political backgrounds to run for public office. In sport, the $200 million Play our Way program is funding facilities and initiatives to address the participation gap, where currently only 33.6% of women participate in weekly sport compared to 49.8% of men.
