The Albanese Government has approved enough renewable energy projects to power nearly every Australian household, marking a historic milestone in the nation's clean energy transition.
The Albanese Government has achieved a record-breaking milestone in Australia's renewable energy sector, approving 77 renewable energy projects with capacity to power over 10 million homes - nearly every household in Australia. These approvals represent the most renewable energy projects approved by any government in Australian history, establishing a clear pathway towards Australia becoming a renewable energy superpower.
Recent approvals include three major wind farm projects in New South Wales totalling 2,404 megawatts, which will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 6.5 million tonnes annually - equivalent to removing more than 2 million cars from Australian roads. These projects complement the existing renewable energy network that already supplies 46% of the national grid's demand, with an additional 15GW added under the current government.
Job creation: 1,340 construction jobs and 80 ongoing positions from the three newest NSW wind farm projects alone
Emissions reduction: 6.5 million tonnes of greenhouse gases cut annually by these projects
Cost of living impact: Increased renewable capacity putting downward pressure on energy prices
Strong environmental protections: All approvals include strict conditions on turbine height, location, land clearing limits, and wildlife management plans
