The Future Made in Australia plan represents one of the largest economic transformations in recent Australian history. The $22.7 billion investment aims to position Australia as a leader in renewable energy while strengthening our industrial and manufacturing capabilities.

The plan focuses on five key areas:

  • Attracting and enabling investment

  • Making Australia a renewable energy superpower

  • Value-adding to our resources and strengthening economic security

  • Supporting Australian innovation, digital technology and science

  • Investing in people and places

Key Initiatives:

  • $3.2 billion for the Australian Renewable Energy Agency

  • $1.7 billion Future Made in Australia Innovation Fund

  • $1 billion Solar Sunshot program for solar manufacturing

  • $523.2 million Battery Breakthrough Initiative

  • $91 million for clean energy workforce development

Significant focus is being placed on developing priority industries including:

  • Renewable hydrogen production

  • Critical minerals processing

  • Green metals manufacturing

  • Low carbon liquid fuels

  • Clean energy technology manufacturing
